Each noook® disc has a specially-designed edge that allows other discs' edges to be interleaved right around it's perimeter. Simply:

1. Hold two discs flat, one in each hand; and then
2. Interleave one disc's edge into the gap formed by the other discs' flanged edge that runs right around the discs.

Take care to make sure only one surface of any one disc is interleaved into the gap, otherwise, the discs will not fully grip each other.

You can then add more discs, both by extending out along in a chain formation, and with multiple discs coming off any one disc.

At first, noook® discs will be quite stiff, so it pays to be patient as you get to grips with the technique of interleaving discs together. But once you've got it, you'll find it really easy.

Each noook® disc has a specially-designed hinge running across the central part of each disc. Fresh out of the pack, each disc is stiff.

Simply bend the disc to change its shape from a 2D disc into a 3D corner. Add more discs and bend their hinges to go from a right angle shape to something closer to a circle or even a sphere.

You can go as big as your dreams are!

Each pack of noook play® comes complete with a specially-designed storage box to keep you noook® discs in tip top condition. Simply put your noook® discs face down (not stacked on their sides) into the box after each play session. That way, your noook® discs will be in a great condition for your next adventure!

This natural happens after a lot of play. noook® works by interleaving each disc and the friction of the material combined with the stiffness of our specially-designed heavy duty board provides a strong grip that makes the discs hold together just the right amount so you can build big dreams, but not so much that you can't change your dream or take it down. But after repeated play, discs will begin to splay a little.

This is really easy to fix. Depending on how splayed they are, we recommend the following techniques:

1. For no to mild splaying, simply store your splayed noook® discs in their original storage box, towards the bottom of the stack, stored flat. The weight of all the discs above will correct the splaying; or
2. For more splaying, put your affected noook® discs under a heavy object such as a large book, heavy pot, or something else that can compress the disc. Leave this overnight and then return to the storage box.

Some of your noook® discs may start to fray around the edges; the coloured outer layer may begin to show a white later underneath. This is quite normal after a lot of play, so don't worry.

Simply wet your thumb and rub it down along the edge to flatten the outer layer back down. This will keep your noook® discs going for longer. If some discs are looking a little tired, you can get on of our 'Top Up' or 'Expansion' packs.

Each noook® disc has a specially-designed hinge to allows you to build 3D shapes - things like corners, edges, hinges etc.. Fresh out of the box, noook® discs are very stiff and need to be broken in. Once the hinge is used a few times, it loosens up - this is perfectly normal and doesn't mean the disc is broken.

However, there may be times when you want the disc to be stiff - for example, if you're making a flat surface and don't want it to bend. In this instance, simply connect one disc to another at right angles so that one disc intersects the other across the hinge/cut-out portion of the disc. This technique locks the floppy disc by using the other disc's non-bending part.

But if you want more fresh discs, we have 'Top Up' and 'Expansion' packs which mean you don't need to buy a full pack again.

No, noook play® isn't waterproof. However, noook play® has water resistant properties so it can withstand a drink spillage, sticky fingers or jam smudges, or being dropped in a sink etc. Simply shake any excess water off the noook® and wipe with a clean cloth.

Yes. If the weather is dry or it is used in a sheltered location, there's no reason why noook play® can't be enjoyed outdoors. Just make sure it's packed way into its storage box at the end of play, or if the weather turns. Please do not leave noook play® outside overnight.

It is very unlikely that a noook® disc will tear.

The central hinge is specifically designed and made to be bent thousands of time, and we are confident that this part will not tear under normal play and usage. If someone is determined to tear it, like vandalizing a book spine, then it may tear, but this isn't want noook® discs are designed to do.

Each noook® disc is made by gluing two pieces of our specially-designed hardboard material together. We use safe but very strong glue and have tested noook play® thousands of times, so we're confident that under play conditions, each noook® disc will give you countless moments of fun and adventure. As for the specially-designed hinge, if someone wishes to vandalise and disc and specifically wrench the faces apart, they may be successful. But this isn't want noook play® is designed for.

If, for whatever reason, your noook® discs do tear, please get in contact and we will investigate for you.

If your noook® discs are looking a little tired, you can either care for them (please look elsewhere in this FAQ) or buy replacements - we offer 'Top Up' and 'Expansion' packs.

Yes, noook play® is safe to chew. Chewing won't do noook play® any good, but it won't do anyone any harm either. noook play® is tested against the most stringent standards and is certified to all relevant EN 71 Toy Safety Standards (that's what the CE mark on our packs means) and the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 (that's what the UKCA mark on our packs means).

Just bear in mind, chewing noook play® won't do your imagination, creativity or fun any good!

It is very unlikely that noook play® will give anyone a paper cut. noook play® is made to the highest standards that ensure each layer in our specially-designed hardboard material is bonded tightly. Over prolonged time and use, corners will likely become more dull, further reducing the chances of a paper cut. If the unfortunate does happen, please follow your usual procedures and first aid for a paper cut.

For orders in the UK, our standard delivery option is next day, which we guarantee if your order is placed before 1pm. If you place your order after 1pm, we will do our best but cannot guarentee next day delivery.

Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days.
